After falling in love with Thelonious Monk and Jazz music, I quickly discovered Miles Davis. Kind of Blue found a permanent spot in my 6-Disc CD Changer during high school, and was my go to album for studying. It's hard to say that I have a favorite song on the album, but Blue in Green always stuck out to me as a unique composition. I had been contemplating a Miles painting for some time, when one afternoon, as I was working on my Aretha Franklin portrait and listening to a ton of soul music and jazz, Blue in Green started to play. My ears piqued and I knew at that moment what my next painting would be.
